The City of Havana has scheduled an informational meeting for Tuesday June 16th at 5:30 p.m. at the City Center, located at 326 W. Market St., Havana. The purpose of this meeting is to explain and discuss the City’s grant award from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity – Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for rehabilitation of housing in a targeted area of Havana. The housing funds are utilized to repair and rehabilitate houses for low-to-moderate income owner-occupied households. Funding for the grant comes from the Community Development Block Grant Program.
The City of Havana is conducting this meeting for the homeowners of the City and encourages all interested parties to attend (specifically those in the target area.). A representative from the Western II lino is Regional Council will be in attendance to discuss the application process, income guidelines, and other criteria pertaining to the CDBG Program. Persons with disabilities that require assistance in order to attend this meeting are requested to contact the City Hall 24 hours prior to the meeting date. Homeowners may schedule an appointment to complete an application at the conclusion of the meeting.

Contractors interested in bidding jobs for the program are also encouraged to attend this meeting. An explanation of the bidding process, insurance and licensing requirements and payment procedure will be discussed following the meeting.
